Question by Team Potter!: Do you think that sex-obsessed women's magazines are screwing with our perception of what sex is all about?
You know, the sorts of magazines that try and tell you that you are doign it "wrong" and try to tell you to do it "the right way"
It's for my assignment. Ive done most of it, except the last bit where it aks me to compare my opinion to anothers. So please help me out! Ten points for best answer.

I wouldn't say that women's magazines are altering our perceptions. I think there are a myriad of contributors that go into how we all see sex: friends, movies, culture, religion, commercials, tv, magazines and parents, to name a few.
I've read a number of women's magazines and can honestly say none of them took a "you are doing it wrong" mentality. Cosmo, Glamour, and Women's Health are a few I've seen recently. I think years ago, perhaps this may have been true. But today women's magazines are empowering and cultivating the individual, not a standard or mold of perfection.
To say that a magazine has the power to alter how a woman feels about her sexuality gives the periodical more power than it will ever have. Especially in a time when print is a dying form. That's something to take into consideration as well, how new technologies are changing the way we communicate. It's easy for an individual to share their thoughts with the world. When hundreds of women respond to a "sex-obsessed" article it provides the different view-points that let us know it's okay to think different.

I'm bothered by your "sex-obsessed" badge of women's magazines. While I don't think women's magazines are sex-obsessed (or anymore so than men's), I would celebrate that advancement. Not so long ago women couldn't talk about sex. And still, to this day, a man with many partners is considered in high regard, whereas a women with the same number of sexual partners is deemed a slut. The more women talk about sex, and are considered sexual creatures, the less sensitized we will become to such labels.
